ANZ Rewards points – Sign-up Bonus and earn rate
The ANZ Platinum credit card offers 80,000 bonus ANZ Rewards Points . To be eligible for these bonus points you have to be a new card holder (you don’t currently hold and haven’t opened or closed an ANZ Frequent Flyer Black, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or an ANZ Frequent Flyer credit card in the last 12 months). To earn the bonus points you need to meet the minimum spend requirement of $2,000 in the first three months.
Beyond the respectable 80,000 sign up bonus ANZ Rewards Points, the ANZ Platinum credit cardoffers an earn rate of
- 1.5 ANZ Rewards Point for every $1 up to and including $2,000
- 0.5 ANZ Rewards Points for every $1 over $2,000

One thing to consider with the flexibility is that you are often paying for it. If you compare this to the ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum card they both fall in the mid tier category, from the same bank, but one offer 70,000 Qantas Points and the other the equivalent of 40,000 Velocity Points.
